Alfons Bytautas

Alfons has been steadily working on a few pieces. He's been pushing and pulling his images into shape. We've been proofing, counter-etching, deleting and reworking the stones, producing various states, before finalising and editioning.

One of our very small stones has produced a lovely image which Alfons has hand coloured with gouache. We made it available as a mini subscription print. It was printed and coloured during the winter Ouseburn Open Studios in November. Subscribers received their impressions prior to the Christmas break.

Anne Desmet RA RE

Having collaborated on one lithograph last year with Anne Desmet, we were delighted to be able to produce four more this year. You'll be able to see them hanging in the RA Summer Exhibition later in the year.

Stones

Thanks to Alfons Bytatuas for letting us know that the were a few small stones up for grabs in a local antique shop. All of them had engraved images of locks. Most likely these are French and were made in the middle of the nineteenth century.

It seemed a shame to grain the images of without trying to revive the images and pull a few impressions. We were able to do this and have them available if anybody is interested

The stones have now been levelled and resurfaced ready for new images.

Goodbye Paul Hughes

All good things come to an end. Having assisted in or workshop for four years, Paul Hughes is moving on to pastures new. Good luck to him and thanks for all the hard work over the years.
