Showing alongside: Lithography and Tamarind 'An Informed Energy'

Prints from the Tamarind Institute, New Mexico.

This world-class exhibition of works by leading international artists Jim Dine, Kiki Smith and Lesley Dill, celebrates the diversity of the medium of lithography and the accomplishments of the renowned Tamarind Institute of New Mexico.

Tamarind Institute is a non profit centre for lithography that trains master-printers and houses a professional collaborative studio for artists. It is recognised internationally for its contributions to the growth of contemporary printmaking around the world.

Part of the International Print Biennale which is taking place at venues across the North East during September, October and November 2011. See www.internationalprintbiennale.org.uk for more information.

Delighted that the collaboration with Graham Gussin (Yes/No Path - published by Northern Print) is centre stage in the exhibition Good Times, Bad Times, All Times Get Over at The Queen's Hall Art Centre, Hexham. The exhibition opened this afternoon with a talk by it's curator, Jonathan Watkins, from the IKON gallery Birmingham.

Narbi Price - Approval to print signed

Over the past couple of months Narbi Price has been stopping by to work on the first of a new series of prints.

Lauren Healey's project is now complete and will be on show in Ink on Paper at the DLI Museum & Durham Art Gallery next month, part of the International Print Biennale. Here is a sneak peak of the piece which is a two colour lithograph on white Somerset satin, 12 3/4" x 102" on six sheets, each sheet 12 3/4" x 17"

Vandercook / Bruce Pearson

Many thanks to wildlife artists Paul Henery & Bruce Pearson plus builder Greg for delivering and assembling our Vandercook SP-15 Test Press. It'll work fine for now with manual inking until parts and inking rollers can be sourced.





Following the press assembly we pulled out a lovely stone for Bruce Pearson to experiment on. He produced a very fluid and stormy sea w/Albatross using tusche, pencils & rubbing ink. We look forward to Bruce returning in the future for a longer and less frantic visit.

Vane - Simon Le Ruez - Proofing

Over the past few days we have been very busy collaborating on a piece with Simon Le Ruez which is being published by Vane. It is a seven colour lithograph printed on BFK Rives off white from one stone and four photo plates - titled 'Elisabet, I've been thinking.'

The piece will be on show at Vane: 20th Oct - 17th Dec
