Working on some #drawings on #litho_transfer_paper with @ceibagrafica No.3 #litho #pencil. When they get small @andyengraver calls pencils “duckles” and puts them in a duckle box. These @ceibagrafica pencils are thin enough to fit in #lithochopsticks without having to whittle the end down. . #transfer_paper

No3 @ceibagrafica #lithopencil #drawings on #litho_transfer_paper. Image size 10 1/2 x 7” . . At the end of last year a supplier was taken over by another company so I’m in the process of switching to a different brand of gum. Each piece of #transfer_paper is made with a different gum. Hopefully one or all of these tests will work out. Time to get that leather roller out of storage. . . I left a sliver of paper free to test out some rubbing, erasing and solvent dilution of the drawing material. . . Drawings have been transferred to stones. I’m pleased that I started with the practice slivers (last pic) as they helped blow away the cobwebs. There was a difference in how each of the papers released. The one for ‘Max’ was a pain and the paper stuck some, the pieces were eventually removed. On now with the next part of the process. I’m following the instructions in the @tamarindinstitute techniques book. With longer times between steps because of the number of stones and not being in a hurry. Narbi Price is showing the two recent lithographs that we collaborated on in Beyond Other Horizons, Iasi Palace of Culture, Romania, 1st–31st March 2020.

 
Beyond Other Horizons is an exhibition brought together by artist curator Peter Harrap; writer and curator Anna McNay; and artist Florin Ungureanu, and funded by the Romanian Cultural Institute. A British Council symposium, in partnership with George Enescu, University of the Arts Iasi, will be held on the 3rd March, from 12–2pm, and a private view on the same day at 6pm.
