Narbi Price: Signs editions & destroys films

Narbi Price returned to the workshop this morning to sign the completed editions of his pair of four colour lithographs - Untitled (Wall) & Untitled (Chain). Having finished signing the edition Narbi was pained to slice up the films of his artwork and delete the plates.

The prints are available now and will remain at the pre-publish price of £120 each (unframed) until 5th September, after which they will be at the full price of £165 each (unframed).

Narbi Price's artist page has now been added to the website. On which you can see his pair of four colour lithographs. They are currently available at a discounted pre-publish price of £120 each.

Narbi Price: Signs approval

Narbi Price returned to the workshop this afternoon to see the completed proof of his second lithograph. Satisfied with the result he signed the approval to print. Images of the pair of prints will be on the website very soon and you'll be able to see them on show at the end of August.

Publishing Award 2009

Today we had a sneaky pre-preview of this years shows with Irene Brown, Head of Fine Art and a with a short list in hand provided by Gavin Robson, Lecturer in Printmaking. The students have worked hard and put on a great show. As with last year it was difficult to narrow down the field to one, but a coffee and a relax in the sun helped with the decision making.

With great pleasure the Publishing Award was given to Carla Bromhead, congratulations.

The aim of the award is to allow a young artist the chance to make some new work after graduating from University within a professional environment. To work collaboratively with the Master Printer and produce, in a given time frame, one or a series of hand printed original lithographs.

Hole Editions 4th Birthday

It's our birthday!!! 4 years ago today the first print was pulled from the press, since that day the press has been cranking for many artists and many projects. It's still early days but slowly and steadily we are keeping on going even in these sticky economic times.

Last year you may remember that we held the 3rd Anniversary Draw, tickets were sold and prizes were won. We have been accumulating prizes since then and there will be more over the coming year in preparation for the 5th Birthday. You are probably asking why not do the draw each year. Well for one it is time consuming and of late the shop has been full of busy, so much so that organising the draw was not possible. Boooo!!

Kristen Bartel: Graining & Editioning

Kristen has been a big help in the shop this past week, the graining board has been cleared of all the finished projects. While Kristen was busy graining, I've been able to catch up on some much needed curating. This afternoon we got on with editioning a couple of Jock Mooney's editions with Kristen at the helm while I assisted - we had to do the Hole Editions dance in the tight space of the press area.
