Iris Priest

Over the past few weeks Iris Priest has been in the workshop. You may remember the ticket that she designed for our 5th Birthday Prize Draw. For helping us fund raise we have repaid her with some shop time to collaborate with us on some lithos.

We have been working hard and a currently under way with a second round of proofing (see below for a wee sneak peek of first image - 9 runs, 14 colours), while Iris draws a new stone.

Ant Macari - Webpage

Ant Macari's webpage has now been added to the website > Ant Macari. On it you can see all the proofs that were made while he was in the workshop in October. Editioning of these pieces is planned for early 2011. Edition sizes will be small so we suggest that you contact us to reserve impressions.

Ray Richardson

Editioning and curating of seven lithographs by Ray Richardson has been completed. Each measures 9 5/16” x 16” and are bleed printed in two colours on Somerset satin white in editions of 25, chopped and (soon to be) signed on the reverse.

A release date, images and prices will be available shortly.

New Artist: George Shaw

We are currently collaborating with George Shaw on a lithograph which is being published by the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts in Gateshead.

Keystone Editions - Berlin

Just returned from a wonderful week in Berlin visiting with Tamarind Master Printers Sarah Dudley & Uli Kühle at their lithography workshop Keystone Editions. It was good to get my hands dirty helping Uli install the electric motor on to one of their presses and assist Sarah at the press for one of the runs of a project. They were kind enough to let me draw on one of their stones.

Richard Wright

Turner Prize winning artist Richard Wright was in Newcastle to work on his edition for the Locus+ Print Portfolio in collaboration with Hole Editions.

The portfolio already comprises specially commissioned works by Mark Dion and Chris Burden.

The portfolio of five artists will be launched in the Autumn of 2011

New Artist: Ant Macari

October brings us the arrival of Ant Macari into the workshop. As you will no doubt remember Ant provided the image 'biker in Lido' for one of the tickets for our 5th Birthday Prize Draw. Money raised from the tickets sales is being used to fund projects with the artists who designed tickets.
